Slightly shorter than the 55 gallon steel drum, but with the same diameter, the 40 gallon steel drum can hold commercial products as well as dangerous goods in need of safe packaging and shipment. The 40 gallon steel drum can conveniently be placed inside an overpack drum for extra safeguarding of hazardous materials, or it is also available with interior epoxy-phenolic coatings or other linings. The 40 gallon drum is 22.5” in diameter and has an inside height of 23 1/4”. Weights vary depending on the gauge of steel from 26 to 50 pounds.
