Because of their larger than standard size, the 85 gallon steel drums are able to both store hazardous materials or contain 55 gallon steel drums that are either damaged, leaking, non-compliant or those in need of additional protection. The 85 gallon steel drum can be used as a Salvage Drum, an Overpack, or for use in Type A & 7A steel drum applications. The drum is 37”x 26” inches, and can weigh up to 80 lbs when constructed of 16 gauge carbon steel (1.5mm). The 85 gallon steel drum interior can be treated with rust-inhibitor or coated with epoxy phenolic linings. These drums can be secured with lever-lock closing rings or nut-and-bolt closing rings.
