As regulatory and design issues continue to effect steel drum integrity, Brian Chesworth has been selected by the Queen of England to receive the Order of the British Empire for his long time dedication, and successes, in industry and community service. As the Chairman of the International Confederation of Container Reconditioners, Brian has fought to further raise the integrity of steel containers which result in safer packaging;spearheaded the ongoing review of United Nations Performance Standards for steel drums; and most recently, united manufacturers and reconditioners on behalf of the environmental consciousness and economies of reusable packaging. King George V,who wanted to recognize individuals for distinguished service to England, created this highly prestigious award nearly a century ago. Brian will receive the award at Buckingham Palace. Congratulations to Brian, and thank you for helping to keep the standards of our industry in the highest regards.
