Skolnik stainless and carbon steel drums have played a historic role in the transportation and isolation of radioactive, transuranic (TRU-waste) and hazardous materials generated at the multiple Department of Energy sites in the United States and those destined for the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. Ranging in size from 3 to 110 gallons, Skolnik manufactures both carbon and stainless steel drums that comply with the applicable requirements of 49 Code of Federal Requirements (CFR), 7A Type A, IP I, II, and III and NQA1 Basic. Skolnik Industries offers its Department of Energy customers an NQA1 Basic (Nuclear Quality Assurance) program that is unparalleled in our industry and one that is administered to the strictest standards. Skolnik also has the ability to manufacturer DOE’s unique and custom design requirements. With an in house test lab, Skolnik can also accommodate customers 7A Type A and UN testing requirements.
