Skolnik steel drums are useful in the packaging, distribution, and disposal of refrigerant coolants that are harmful to our environment when not maintained properly. Though many chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) have recently been phased out of refrigeration production and have been replaced by hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), which have a smaller impact on the ozone layer, they still may be present in refrigerators that are being discarded. However with each chemical there are still many risks associated with their management when released into the environment; these risks can be diminished with the Skolnik steel drum. Skolnik steel drums and Salvage Drums can insure that these chemicals are not released into our atmosphere, and can allow companies to meet federal law of their disposal and recycling. Skolnik steel drums are manufactured in various sizes, open and closed head, and can prevent the leakage of these harmful CFCs from escaping containment and damaging the ozone layer.
