Stainless steel drums
In addition to the unique properties of stainless steel, Skolnik stainless drums are produced to be thicker and stronger than industry standards. Stainless steel drums are often used in food and pharmaceutical applications due to their corrosive resistant and antibacterial properties. Stainless steel drums come in a range of sizes from 5-110 gallons and have varied gauges from 20 to 16 gauge (0.9-1.6mm). The drums are UN and DOT certified per 49 CFR 178.600 for the packaging and transportation of hazardous materials. Skolnik stainless steel drums are available in 304 stainless steel, the most common grade. Also known as "A2" in accordance with ISO 3506. Customers can also request both open head and closed head drums in 316 grade stainless steel the second most common grade of stainless steel after 304.
