However, we continue to have issues procuring specific custom paint colors, especially pink, and now we know why; it\u2019s all Barbie\u2019s fault!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>During the production<\/strong>&nbsp;of the new Warner Bros. &#8220;Barbie&#8221; film, an enormous amount of pink paint was used for the sets, so much so that it reportedly depleted the global supply of pink paint from the company Rosco. The film&#8217;s production designer, Sarah Greenwood, mentioned in an interview that the world had run out of pink due to the film&#8217;s requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>However<\/strong>, the situation is more complex, according to Lauren Proud, the vice president of global marketing at Rosco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The COVID-19 pandemic had already caused disruptions in the global supply chain, including the availability of paint.<\/li><li>Additionally, Rosco had faced challenges in its paint production due to the impact of a severe freeze in Texas in early 2021.<\/li><li>They were already operating with a limited paint supply.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>While using a significant amount<\/strong>&nbsp;of pink paint in the &#8220;Barbie&#8221; film contributed to the strain on the available supply, Proud stated that it wasn&#8217;t solely responsible for the shortage.
