Unlike the retired DOT test criteria, containers tested in accordance with UN Performance Standards cannot deviate from the test model except for very few modifications that do not effect the integrity of the drum. Therefore, all Skolnik Open and Tight Head drums that are tested with 2" and ¾ " Plugs in the top head or cover and a 2" body drain. By testing in this manner, we have the option of including none, some, or all of these plug insertions. These options allow our customers to tailor a drum to their needs without fear of invalidating the UN certification.
