Dangerous Goods Facing Increased Road Tests

Authorities for DOT, Canada and Mexico are checking commercial vehicles and their drivers at inspections sites along major highways. Inspectors are likely to be particularly observant given the heightened concerns about hazardous materials. Among the items being checked are hazmat endorsements, driver logs, insurance, title, license receipts, shipping papers, placards, proper display of DOT registration numbers, VIN numbers, ownership, reflective tape and all the other rules that apply to commercial vehicles, their drivers and their cargo.
