Beyond the Ordinary: Customizing Products, Packaging, and Fulfillment for L’Oreal

We’re adamant about our role as a supporting player in our customers’ success. That’s why when our colleagues at L’Oreal requested specific drum packaging to streamline their own operations, we set off to see how we could help.

First and foremost, L’Oreal required a custom drum configuration. Done. Skolnik regularly customizes drums for our partners. We discussed the parameters with L’Oreal and custom designed 126 gallon seamless process drums to suit their needs. 

This is where most manufacturers would stop. Drum made, need met, check the box and move on.

But at Skolnik, we took a couple extra steps to ensure the team at L’Oreal was set up for maximum efficiency.

1. Cleared warehouse space at our own facility to store L’Oreal’s pallets for drum transport. The cosmetic industry has strict rules about the pallets used for their drums. For every order we process for L’Oreal, they need to send us these specialized plastic pallets. So, we cleared warehouse space at our own facility to store these pallets for them during orders.
2. Sourced a custom stainless steel platform for packaging. Before the drums can be loaded onto these pallets, they need to be welded to a stainless steel platform. So, we sourced that platform for L’Oreal as well.

In summary: In addition to designing and manufacturing a custom drum, we reconfigure our production line and set up to better support our customer. We manufacture the drums, weld them onto the specially sourced platform, load them onto the required pallets, and ship them out. When L’Oreal’s order arrives at their facility, they can maneuver them around their operations with ease, safety and compliance.

All because a partnership with Skolnik is beyond the ordinary.
