Recognizing that dangerous goods in the wrong hands can become items of bio-terrorism, the Dangerous Goods Advisory Council (formerly HMAC) has established a Sub-Committee to monitor and advise domestic and international regulatory bodies on dangerous goods security issues. Chaired by Howard Skolnik, the Committee has agreed that their mission is to work with national and international regulatory agencies, through the DGAC NARLA & INTEREC committees, to pro-actively offer dangerous goods expertise on global transportation regulations that will support safe and secure transport. When appropriate, the infrastructure may incorporate matters relative to dangerous goods possession and storage. If you are already a DGAC member and would like to join the DG Security Sub-Committee, contact Howard Skolnik at howard@skolnik.com. If you are not a DGAC member and would like membership information, visit www.dgac.org.
