Intentional and unintentional shipments of dangerous goods are often carried on board commercial aircraft. Items such as automobile batteries, fireworks and unsecured bottles of flammables often make their way into the storage bins above passenger‘s heads. The Air Line Pilots Association, the Air Transport Association of America and the Hazardous Materials Advisory Council will be presenting recommendations to the US-DOT of possible solutions to reduce these dangers. Some of the recommendations are; better signage; displaying common items that are forbidden; public service announcements; adding items to security questions at check-in, and airline website announcements.
