Just back from another wine exposition in Pennsylvania, we are finding that a new drum feature is drawing a lot of attention from wine makers. The new Silicon drum plug is reusable, easily cleaned and relatively inexpensive. The plug fits our 2″ Tri-Clover fitting and installs into the drums in the same manner as a conventional 2″ stainless plug. Of particular benefit, this new Silicon plug allows for outward venting, but no inward contamination. The result is more people can use this for fermentation, not just aging. Allow an extra 5 days to ship when ordering wine drums with the Silicon plug.
