Timothy A. Klein has been selected to become the agency‘s new associate administrator for innovation, research and education. As associate administrator, Klein will be responsible for directing RSPA’s commitment to delivering the highest quality research, technology, education and training to provide a safe, technologically advanced and efficient transportation system that promotes economic growth and international competitiveness. Prior to joining the DOT, Klein served as the program business manager for instruments and formulation at NASA‘s Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) where Klein led a team of project, institutional, procurement and resources management professionals in supporting the development of all GSFC flight instruments and all new missions in planning for both earth science and space science applications. Klein received both bachelors and masters degrees in public administration from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and is a Council for Excellence in Government senior fellow and a member of the External Advisory Board to the Department of Public Administration at The George Washington University.
